The Sony FE 600mm f4 GM brings a new level of telephoto abilities to the Sony E-Mount, allowing users of this system greater success in the Sports and Wildlife fields. Despite such a huge focal length, this lens is a relatively lightweight product, coming in at a little over 3KG. As well as a tripod collar, which allows you to achieve stability quickly and easily, this telephoto prime lens features Optical Image Stabilisation, so you can fire off handheld shots with overwhelming success.
Great for creating eye-catching shallow depths of fields, and for freezing the action no matter how fast it is moving, the Sony FE 600mm lens features a fast f4 maximum aperture. To keep the lens on the toes of the quickest of subjects, Sony has included two extremely dynamic linear motors in the physical design. Optically the Sony FE 600mm f4 lens performs as brilliantly as you would expect, thanks in part to the inclusion of a unique large extreme Aspherical element.
A weight of just 6.70 lb, including a tripod mount, makes this lens balance ideally with compact, lightweight E-mount camera bodies for easy handling and control. Smooth, precise panning is possible handheld or monopod-mounted. A dust- and moisture-resistant design provides reliability for outdoor use in challenging conditions, and the front lens element features a fluorine coating that repels water, oil, and other contaminants. A rigid magnesium alloy is used not only for the lens barrel exterior and tripod mount area but for critical areas of the barrel interior as well, ensuring maximum strength and durability.
